1. Use suitable tips:

To ensure better accuracy and precision, it is recommended that the pipetting volume be in the range of 35% -100% of the tip.

2. Tip installation:

For most brands of pipettes, especially multi-channel pipettes, it is not easy to install the pipette tip: in order to pursue good sealing, it is necessary to insert the pipette handle into the pipette tip, turn it left or right or shake it back and forth to tighten . Some people will use the pipette to repeatedly hit the tip to tighten, but this operation will cause the tip to be deformed and affect the accuracy. In serious cases, the pipette will be damaged, so such operations should be avoided. Dragonlab's multi-channel pipettes do not have O-rings. With the tip with a front stop point, you can achieve an ideal seal with just a light press. This is really the gospel for multi-channel pipette users.

3. Angle and depth of tip immersion:

The immersion angle of the tip should be controlled within 20 degrees of tilt, and it is better to keep it vertical; the recommended depth of tip immersion is as follows:

For samples at normal temperature, tip rinsing helps to improve accuracy; but for high-temperature or low-temperature samples, tip rinsing reduces the accuracy of operation, so users should pay special attention.

5. Aspiration speed:

The pipetting operation should maintain a smooth and appropriate pipetting speed; too fast pipetting speed can easily cause the sample to enter the sleeve handle, causing damage to the piston and sealing ring and cross-contamination of the sample.

Pipette (pipette gun) recommendations for use:

1. Maintain the correct posture when pipetting; do not hold the pipette at all times, use a pipette with a finger hook to help relieve hand fatigue; change hands frequently if possible.

2. Regularly check the seal status of the pipette. Once the seal is aged or leaks, the seal ring must be replaced in time.

3. The pipette is calibrated 1-2 times a year (depending on the frequency of use).

4. Most pipettes, before use and after a period of use, should be coated with a layer of lubricating oil to maintain the tightness of the piston; for Dragonlab conventional range of pipettes, without lubricating oil is also ideal 'S tightness.
