Modern packaging takes care of the environment first

The "people-oriented" design concept was proposed by Western designers at the beginning of the last century. Today, this idea still has realistic significance and far-reaching effects.

With the rapid development of modern society and economy, the living environment of human beings has been deteriorating, which has aroused the attention and attention of all countries in the world. The destruction and waste of resources are also a major obstacle to economic development. When a large amount of rubbish surrounds our homeland, when some packaging materials are wasted... We are shocked. Do we realize that packaging is also an important source of pollution? The waste of resources on packaging materials is even more startling. Take the example of the moon cake wars each year. The gift box for moon cakes is more than a top grade. Here, we must point out that those moon cakes that look like jewellery boxes are packaged with gorgeous, tedious plastic boxes. Not to mention the hazards of two layers of plastic packaging to the human body, its costly and high price is also staggering. Regrettably, most of these boxes went into the bins in just a few days, which polluted the environment and wasted resources. Just imagine that if the packaging box made of paper or other natural materials can achieve the same freshness, it will not have any impact on the environment. Natural materials such as paper, bamboo, wood, linen and cotton are easy to recycle. Not fun for it? At present, there is no legal requirement for China to punish the pollution caused by packaging materials. In developed countries, relevant laws and regulations have been established since the early 1990s, and restrictions on production and finding substitutes have been adopted for certain packaging materials that cannot be recycled or recycled. The development and utilization of natural packaging materials is a development trend. When people want to buy green foods, they also want to use green packaging.

China has a vast territory and abundant natural packaging materials, such as bamboo, rattan, brown, grass, willow, wood, hemp, cotton and shells. Most of these natural materials are wire rods. If they can be developed and used in conjunction with surface materials, their application prospects are considerable. Some materials can be made into face materials through braiding, pressing, etc. If they can be used universally, reused, or used in gift package design, they can reduce the consumption of resources, increase the utilization of materials, and promote the sustainable development of the economy. This is a major event for the benefit of future generations. As a modern designer, only by establishing a “people-oriented” thinking can we establish the environmental awareness in design and care for human development and future.

Design should be concerned with people and be people-centered. It is not a slogan. It should embody the concern for people's lives, psychology, environment, behavior, thoughts, and aspirations in different periods. Design should become a friend and guide for mankind toward the new century.
