Hong Kong Develops Precision Micro Injection Molding Machine

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University has recently developed a precision micro injection molding machine. The micro-injection molding machine can make small parts such as rice grains, suitable for producing some high-precision parts.

Lu Xinrong, the vice president of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, said that the newly developed micro injection molding machine is the only vacuum injection molding machine in the world that can be used. The injection speed can reach 1 meter per second and the locking force can reach 2 tons. He said that the general injection molding machine in the production of horizontal and oblique polymerization, but the device from top to bottom straight polymerization, can greatly improve the accuracy of production.

Lu Xinrong said that the micro-injection molding machine is suitable for producing some high-precision parts, such as surgical medical devices, plastic medical parts that can be implanted in the body; it can also be applied to mobile phone lenses and watch gears.
