Online color management solution for flexographic and gravure printing
New features help reduce layout adjustment time, correct errors in real time and increase productivity
The world leader in color technology, X-Rite (Booth No. 5, Booth D02) Co., Ltd., announced today that vipPAQ version 2.0, the industry's first online color density measurement system for flexographic and gravure printing, is now available. . Designed to optimize production control and quality assurance, vipPAQ is the only in-line solution capable of controlling the optical density of any spot color. It also has reliable and accurate ICC color management and allows consistent reproduction of target printing conditions. VipPAQ version 2.0 introduces a number of new features and enhancements that help reduce typographic adjustments in print jobs and ensure that print operators identify and correct errors before they cause serious damage.
vipPAQ version 2.0 is fully networkable and designed for integration into flexo printing workflows, from prepress to print shop and quality control. Before printing, you can use the X-Rite portable spectrophotometer to measure reference values or use the new “vipPAQ Input Tool†application to input reference values from other applications (such as from X-Rite InkFormulation software). The acquired color data can be transmitted directly to the vipPAQ system of the printing shop through the network, thereby shortening the time for typesetting and delivering precise colors on time.
vipPAQ performs quality inspections on the console in real-world printing situations for true real-time job control without slowing down printing. Throughout the printing operation, vipPAQ monitors density and dot changes due to variations in substrate, viscosity, speed, pressure, temperature, and ink impurities, so immediate correction can be taken. The higher the speed of operation, the more quality products can be produced, and the less wasted resources. In the quality evaluation, the new “vipPAQ Job Viewer†application can be used to observe and analyze the measurement data in the print job.
vipPAQ version 2.0 features up to four 9-channel densitometers with handheld optics, a controller and system software. In order to ensure accurate reprinting in the future, vipPAQ 2.0 also records the exact printing conditions and archives the job data for optimal long-term quality control.
Other new key features of vipPAQ 2.0:
◆ New “Multi-Trigger†function allows separate control elements when printing space is limited ◆ In addition to displaying density values for controlling solid patches, dot area values can also be displayed to control halftone dots ◆ Uninterrupted measurement without trigger marks , for example, to get data from a paint line ◆ The alert performance option can connect optical towers (flashing lights or sounds) to the host to increase the visibility of alarms in excess
