Due to the differences in the characteristics of the goods and the characteristics of the packaging, the requirements for the performance of the trademark and the quality of the process are also different. For the vast majority of printing companies, the quality of prints and the quality of post-press processing inspections seem to be all right. actually not. Nowadays, the customer's quality requirements for printed matters are not only print quality and decoration quality, but also require that the use characteristics of the trademark should meet the requirements for the use of product packaging characteristics. However, due to different factors such as packaging environment and packaging characteristics, the effect of the use of the trademark will have a certain degree of influence, resulting in some unexpected packaging quality problems during the use of the trademark. This is worthy of our attention. Technical and process issues. This article analyzes and discusses the accidental quality problems that occur during the use of trademarks in customer packaging, for reference by peers.
First, the trademark production process and the surface of the plastic film packaging bag partially damaged by the situation
This series of trademark cards is our old product. The printing material is 350 white white paperboards. We use Y, B, C, M four-color printing and two-color spot colors for printing. Then, we use the two kinds of semi-finished products of the trademark for polishing. The waterborne matting oil on board or the 6# gloss oil on a single-color offset press is then cut into 11.5cm x 28cm finished products by indentation. In the past, these two kinds of trademark card products have always been polished by using the above two processes, and there have been no problems with the quality of adhesion damage after surface packaging of products. However, in the use of these two kinds of trademark cards for a period of time, it was found that cardboard labels and raincoats and bathroom curtains were respectively packed in transparent plastic film bags. After a period of time, the gloss oil layer on the surface of the trademark was together with the ink layer. Film adhesion caused local image damage, and the customer made a quality complaint to us and processed all the two batches of products. They believe that the surface of the printed product is in contact with the packaging film bag, which is caused by the printing ink layer and the varnish. In fact, our printing ink layer and lacquer layer are completely dry. Moreover, our production process for this product has not changed. We also use the ink brand, varnishes, production equipment and production environment conditions. None of them changed. We think that it is caused by other factors. As a result, we observed through the customer's production packaging site and found two problems. One is that the workshop produces moisture at the packaging site during this season is very large, and second, the plastic film packaging bag has a certain degree of stickiness. The inner layers of the two are attached to each other, and when they are separated, there is a feeling of mutual adhesion. Our preliminary judgment may be the difference in the characteristics of the plastic film packaging bags, which is the main reason why it is easy to damage the adhesion of the surface layer of the trademark under a high humidity environment.
Second, the print wear and dry analysis
Our experiments and analysis show that the printed ink layer and the lacquer layer cannot be stacked at all and cannot be cut without being completely dried. Because the semi-finished product stack is under pressure, especially when the semi-finished product is cut, the paper press has a greater pressure on the surface of the product. In this case, if the ink layer and the lacquer layer of the printed matter are not completely dry, the abrasion resistance of the printed matter will be poor, and the quality of the sticky quality will be immediately impaired. The back of the printed product will be imprinted and the ink on the front side of the printed product will appear. The lacquer layer immediately shows signs of damage. When the printed product is in a dry condition, there will be no problem of stickiness of the printed product. In the two batches of trademark cards that we sent to the company, there is no evidence of mutual adhesion between the printed products. This shows that the printed ink and lacquer layers of the finished product are completely dry and there is no problem. However, when the customer does not allow the finished product to be used in the packaging, the phenomenon of mutual adhesion with the package is required, and it requires us to find a solution to this problem.
3. Analysis of adhesions between trademarks such as raincoats and plastic bags
According to the company's adhesion samples and our understanding of the company's production site, we put forward the following analysis opinions and conclusions: The surface of the trademark printed product was damaged by the adhesion of the plastic film packaging bag. Our ink layers and varnish were dry, and no adhesion occurred between our prints when they were not packaged. However, the phenomenon of blocking occurred after being stacked in a plastic bag. This may be due to the large humidity in the production environment, and some molecular components of the plastic film are not compatible with the varnish. This may be due to the excessive humidity at the production site and the adverse reaction of water vapor and the surface of the printed product. However, the customer's production conditions are not unilaterally changeable by us. Therefore, after analyzing and researching, we decided to carry out improvement tests on the post-press processing of this product.
IV. Test results of improved post-press processing
In order to avoid the phenomenon of mutual adhesion between plastic bags and coating products, we improved the test of small-lot post-press processing of this product. We used a solvent-based wear-resisting varnish to polish the product in small batches, and then sent the finished product to the customer for packaging testing. As a result, after the trademark product of polishing with a solvent-based wear-resistant glazing oil was put into a plastic film packaging bag, the surface of the packaging bag was no longer damaged by adhesion. In this way, we will also return the finished product branded card, after using solvent-based wear-resistant glazing oil to make up one time, and then putting it into use, there will be no problem of packaging adhesion quality, which will greatly reduce our economic losses. We start from the production process and do not change the customer's production environment and packaging materials, proceed with their own production process to take flexible measures to solve the product packaging quality problems, the product's production process has been recognized by the customer. Now the trademark card's post-printing decoration process uses solvent-based wear-resisting varnish for glazing. Multiple batches of products have been produced, and no packaging adhesion quality problems have appeared. Customers are satisfied with the improved trademark production process results.
The solution to the aforementioned packaging problem has given us great inspiration. After printing and glazing of the printed matter, although it passed the standard inspection, it must be able to withstand the inspection after the end-user use. In the process of use, customers may be subject to some variability factors, such as the temperature and humidity of the production environment, and the differences in the characteristics of different batches of packaging, which may cause the printability to be limited or affected to a certain extent, resulting in some Unexpected chain quality problems. Therefore, as long as we are good at carrying out serious analysis and research, and taking corresponding measures to improve the process according to the characteristics of the quality problems that appear, we can solve the problems accurately, quickly, and well, and satisfy the customer's production of printed materials in packaging. On special use requirements.
