———Interview with Yi Heyuan Furniture Designer Gao Chengping
The "Haipai" culture has a long history. It originated from the Liu Haisu painter. Its style of painting combines the characteristics of Chinese and Western cultures. Yiheyuan newly developed the "Han Gong Qiuyue" and "Oriental Huiyun" series of furniture, the material is made of expensive Burmese teak, and the inside of the drawer is made of small leaf eucalyptus. When it comes to design, Gao Chengping talks. He collected a lot of material before designing these two series of furniture. It also visited Xidi County and Qixian County of Anhui Province and Wuyuan County of Jiangxi Province. The common feature of these places is that ancient buildings are well preserved and have good carvings, which reproduce the brilliance and exquisiteness of Chinese culture from one side.
What they saw and heard in these places gave Gao Chengping a strong impact and inspiration. Together with the previous knowledge reserve, Gao Chengping gave a glimpse of the two series of designs. This confirms the phrase "preparation time is always more than design time". . From these works, the atmosphere is elegant, noble and complemented by beauty. Some of the local processing is very delicate, we can see Gao Chengping's "stealing" effort from some design elements. For example, the foot of the sofa in the "Oriental Huiyun" series is transformed from the arch point connecting the beam and the beam of the ancient building in Anhui, while the handrail is in the shape of an ancient scroll; "Han Gong Qiuyue" furniture The waist carvings use the "back" text of the Han Dynasty, the shape of the feet is round and powerful; other sculptures are drawn from brick carvings in ancient buildings, and so on. The overall feeling gives people the wisdom and success of Chinese culture.
Since it is a "new sea faction", where is the design element of the West? The shape of the wine cabinet, the outer edge of the top of the large wardrobe, and the moon elements in the sculpture are all from the West.
