Inkjet recording water based ink

The present invention discloses an ink jet recording water based ink comprising carbon black as a colorant and water. Chloride ion content in the ink is not more than 8ppm. 1,2,3-benzotriazole can be added to the ink as a rust inhibitor. Even when the amount of oxygen contained in the ink is about 9 ppm, corrosion of the discharge section can be avoided even in the use of a printing machine using a metal member as a discharge section, and this corrosion is additionally caused by chlorine ions.
