5, carton printing process
The impact of the printing process on the compressive strength of the carton can not be ignored. The printing area, printing shape and printing position have different influences on the compressive strength of the carton. In general, the larger the printing area, the greater the reduction in compressive strength of the carton. Full version of the field, block and strip printing has a greater impact on the compressive strength and should be avoided during design. For the carton printing position, the brush has a higher pressure resistance in the middle part of the front side than at the edge. (See Figure 4)
A large number of test data shows that monochrome printing reduces the compressive strength of cartons by 6%-8%, two-color printing and three-color printing reduce the compressive strength of cartons by 10%-15%, and four-color overprinting and full-surface printing make cartons The compressive strength decreased by about 2%. For multi-color printing, the pre-printing process that adopts the first printing and then covers the die-cutting can effectively reduce the extent of the compressive strength depletion of the carton due to printing.
6, die cutting process
During the die-cutting process of the carton, due to external heavy pressure, the carton's pit shape will be damaged to varying degrees, and the compressive strength will also decrease. In comparison, flat pressure die cutting has less influence on the compressive strength, and circle pressure and round pressure die cutting have greater effect on the pressure. For example, the curved beer cut in conjunction with the printing press can cause the carton compressive strength to decrease by more than 25%.
7, carton lining design
Many interiors of cartons also include linings such as EPE, paper, and plastic. After the lining is loaded in the carton, its compressive strength will increase. However, the design of the liner is not the same as the increase in the pressure resistance. The design of the lining pieces so that the right angle is designed to have rounded corners is more conducive to improving the compressive strength. (See Figure 5)
8, the temperature and humidity of the carton stacking environment
The carton is sensitive to the temperature and humidity environment. The temperature has little effect on the compressive strength of the carton, but the humidity is very obvious. With the increase of temperature and humidity, the compressive strength of the carton showed a significant downward trend, which began to drop sharply at a temperature of 30°C and a humidity of 80% H. When the temperature was 45°C and the humidity was 95% RH, the compressive strength decreased. Up to 60%.
