How to choose wire mesh reasonably (Part 1)

The silk screen is the skeleton for making the printing plate, and is the matrix supporting the photosensitive glue or photosensitive film, which directly affects the performance, printing quality and precision of the printing plate. Understanding the characteristics of silk screens and choosing the right silk screen according to printing requirements are the primary issues in creating high-quality silk screen products. The choice of wire mesh is specifically to determine the type, mesh and level of wire mesh.

1 Types and characteristics of wire mesh

The type of screen should be determined according to the accuracy of the original, the shape of the substrate and the basic requirements for printing. According to their different materials, the wire mesh is mainly divided into four types, namely silk wire, nylon wire mesh, polyester wire mesh and stainless steel wire mesh. Each type of wire mesh has its own unique properties (as shown in Table 1) and specific scope of application (as shown in Table 2), which must be understood in order to make a reasonable choice.
