To calculate and modify the exposure time according to the sample photos, you must first know that the three factors that cause the exposure time to change during the calibration process (ie: the density of the color filter, the number of sheets, and the density of the sample, etc.) Change the values, and then calculate the new exposure time based on these values.
(1) The effect of density change of color filter on exposure time Generally speaking, the effect of magenta and cyan filters on exposure is basically the same. For every increase or decrease of 10 density, the exposure time also needs to be increased or decreased by 10%. The yellow filter has little effect on the exposure, and the exposure time differs by only 10% when there is a difference of 40 densities. The following two tables are obtained through calculation for reference when calculating the exposure time. Effect of magenta and cyan filter density changes on exposure time
(2) The effect of changing the number of color filters on the exposure time Generally, the transmittance of the new color filter is good, and each color filter differs by 10% of the exposure. If the color filter is worn out and the surface is scratched, the light transmittance will decrease, and each color filter will have an exposure time difference of 15% or more. The effect of the change of the number of color filters on the exposure time (3) The effect of the density of sample photos on the exposure time The exposure time is too large or insufficient, then the exposure should be calculated and modified according to the data in the table according to the amount (percentage) of the excess or insufficient density time. Modification of the density of the sample photos (dark and light) to the exposure time
Here are two examples to illustrate the calculation method when modifying the exposure of the sample photos.
Example 1: The original sample color filter combination is 60,400,000.
Exposure time: 10 seconds Number of color filters: 2
After the sample is judged that the sample photo is magenta, it is estimated that 20 density magenta filters will be added. The density of sample photos is low, it is estimated to increase the exposure by 10%.
Therefore, the modified color filter combination is 60 60 00
According to the table, the increase of 20 density magenta should be × 1.2
The number of color filters has not changed
According to the table, if the density is 10% lower, it should be 1.1
Therefore, the exposure time after the change is: 10 (seconds) × 1.2 × 1.1 = 13.2 (seconds)
Example 2: The original sample filter combination is 40 30 00
Exposure time: 15 seconds Number of color filters: After 2 samples, it is judged that the color is 30 yellowish in density, 15 blueish in density, and the sample photo is 20% lighter.
Therefore, the modified combination of color filters is: 40 30 00 + 30 00 15 70 30 15 -15 15 15 55 15 00
The revised changes are:
The yellow filter adds 15 densities × 1.05
Magenta color filter reduced by 15 density × 0.85
Add two color filters × 1.2
Then the modification of the exposure time should be:
15 (seconds) × 1.05 × 0.85 × 1.2 = 16 (seconds)
