Performance of FSA 1060

In Düsseldorf in May last year, the FSA series machines made their debut on Drupa, which made everyone witness the success of Mr. Gish. The maximum paper size supported by the machine is 1060mm x 760mm, and the largest area under pressure is 1030mm x 730mm. It can be used for hot foil stamping of up to 11 foil rolls at the same time. In addition, two sets of horizontal feeding devices can also be selected. The gilding and embossing speed of the device can reach 7500 times/hour.

Pressure is the most important factor affecting the quality of bronzing. It depends on the bronzing temperature, the fixing time (depending on the machine speed), the roughness and thickness of the foil, the area under pressure, and the type of gold foil.

To get the best pressure action time, the company uses an “O” type fixture instead of the “X” type device used in conventional machines. This optimizes the pressure application time, enabling the Foil Commander to increase the fixing quality by 26% compared to a high-performance die-cutting machine.

When using a custodial foil transfer system called "Vacufoil" foil tension is minimized. The foils supplied by the conventional foil transport system are longer and therefore can only meet the needs of low-speed operation of the equipment, and have limitations on the size of the reels. Unlike these systems, the Foil Commander can control the foil tension so that the 750mm foil can meet the high-speed production requirements of 7,500 sheets/hour.

The FSA 1060 can perform up to 11 foil rolls at the same time. The width of the foil is 45mm to 1040mm. The foil is stored in an integrated baler. The Vacufoil feed system provides a simple path to the foil reel for the mounting foil and uses a clamp to wrap the foil. The foil is guided by air cushions and moving lubricated rollers, and the equipment provides an interchangeable stand to support off-line preparation.

Foil Commander supports the simultaneous stamping of foils of multiple colors in both the direction of transport and the vertical direction of the printed sheets. Thus, a complex color foil job requires only one process. In addition, the use of hot stamping and embossing combination tool can also be combined with embossing process.

In order to highlight the performance of Foil Commander, the company has demonstrated the processing of three different print jobs. The first is to use three kinds of foil foil stamping on a 1020 x 734mm paperboard to make a cosmetic package. The speed was 4000 sheets/hour before processing this job on a normal flattening equipment, but the speed was increased to 7,000 sheets/hour after using Cesme equipment. Not only did the production speed increase by 75%, the net output of 100,000 sheets (including preparation time) also increased by 63%.

The second is also the hot stamping of cosmetic packaging, using four rolls of gold foil on a 1017 x 721 mm paperboard to feed on an average length of 340 mm. The production speed of the equipment is increased from 3,000 sheets/hour to 4,000 sheets/hour. It is also a 100,000-print job. The equipment can increase production efficiency by 34%.

The last one is the bronzing of the poster. The job requires two bronzings. The foil size is 750mm long. The entire process is twice as fast as other devices, and the output of 100,000 posters has increased by a staggering 87%.
