Let's talk about some of the simpler problems I encountered during the printer repair process:

First, print characters or missing, and the characters are not clear.

Analysis of reasons: For inkjet printers, there may be two reasons: 1. Ink cartridges are exhausted; 2. The printer is not used for a long time or exposed to direct sunlight. The nozzle is blocked. For the dot matrix printer, it may be due to the following reasons: 1. Printing ribbon for too long; 2. The print head has not been cleaned for a long time, too much dirt; 3. The print head has broken needles; 4. The print head driver circuit is defective.

Solution: For inkjet printers, you can replace the cartridge with new ones. If the cartridges are not used up, you can conclude that the nozzles are blocked: Remove the cartridges (for printers that are not integrated in the cartridge nozzles, remove the nozzles, but be careful). Soak the nozzle in warm water for a while. Be careful not to immerse the circuit board in water. Otherwise, the consequences may be unimaginable. For a dot matrix printer, you can adjust the gap between the print head and the print roller. If not, you can change the ribbon. If it is not enough, you need to clean the print head. The method is: Remove the two fixing screws on the print head and take down the print head. Use a needle or a small hook to remove dirt from the front and back of the print head. Usually the ribbon fibers accumulated for a long time are printed. The back of the head can see a few drops of indicator oil at the place where the needle is seen, to remove some of the dirt, do not load the ribbon with blank sheets of paper, and then reload the ribbon so that the problem can be basically solved if it is a print head break. Needle or drive circuit problem, it can only get the maintenance department to go.

Second, when printing, a black war with uneven thickness appears on the printed paper, and the entire sheet of paper is severe.

CAUSE ANALYSIS: This phenomenon usually occurs on the dot matrix printer because the print head is dirty or the print head is too far from the print roller or the print paper is too thick.

Solution: Remove the printhead, clean the printhead, or adjust the gap between the printhead and the print roller.

Third, the printed side is clear and the other side is not clear.

Analysis of the reasons: This phenomenon is generally also appeared in the dot matrix printer. Inkjet printers may also appear, but the probability is small. The main reason is that the print head track and the print roller are not parallel, resulting in the distance between the two is far.

Solution: You can adjust the distance between the print head guides and the print roller so that they are parallel. The specific approach is: to loosen the two sides of the printhead guide rails to adjust the film, counterclockwise rotation to adjust the gap to reduce the gap, clockwise to increase the gap, and finally adjust the printhead guide rail and print roller parallel to solve the problem. Pay attention to adjust the direction of the adjustment, you can gradually adjust, print more than a few times.

Fourth, when the print head feels that the print head is subjected to resistance, the printing will stop for a long time or it will vibrate in the original place.

Analysis of reason: When the print head guide slides for a long time, it will become dry. When the print head moves, it will be blocked. When the print head moves to a certain extent, printing will stop. In severe cases, the drive circuit can be burned.

Solution: Apply a few drops of oil on the print rail, and move the print head back and forth to make it even. Reboot, if it is still blocked, it may be the driver circuit burned out, you need to get to the maintenance department.

Fifth, there is no reaction after the printer is turned on, and it is not powered at all.

Analysis of reasons; printers have over-current protection devices, when the current is too large will play a role in current protection. This phenomenon is basically a burn-out of the printer insurance.

Solution; Open the case, find the fuse in the printer's internal power supply (the internal power supply can be found near the printer's external power supply) to see if it is black, or use a multimeter to measure if it burns out. If it burns out, replace it with a basic one. Matching fuses are available (the fuses are marked with rated current).
