Dow Launches High Performance Hard Packing

The Dow Chemical Company recently introduced several new high-performance hard packaging grades, in addition to good rigidity and toughness, and good transparency.

Among them, two polypropylene homopolymers, Inspire213 and Inspire215, have better rigidity and transparency than general polypropylene. Inspire213 thermoformed products have good transparency and gloss, heat resistance required for microwave and hot filling, short molding cycle, thinning of product thickness, and application in dry goods and fresh food dishes; Inspire 215 is an injection grade grade, featuring It has high resistance to top load load, microwave heating and heat filling requirements, and it can be processed quickly. The added filler has good gloss and light weight and is suitable for thin-walled injection food containers.

Dow makes use of its advanced technology to produce PS series grades featuring high transparency, rigidity, and heat resistance that can be directly applied without the need for blending with other materials or coating the surface with a high gloss layer. New materials are particularly attractive to the sealed market. The sealing materials used today are expensive graft copolymers and special structural polymers and are difficult to blend with other materials, resulting in low production efficiency. (Yi Jia)
