On April 4, local time, UnionPay International and Cambodia’s Minjiang Bank jointly announced the issuance of the first UnionPay Platinum IC credit card in Cambodia to provide local cardholders with preferential, convenient and secure payment services.
The UnionPay Platinum IC Credit Card issued this time is an international payment card that can be used in the global network of UnionPay cards. Mainly for business people from Cambodia to China and the rapidly growing affluent middle class, they provide convenience for their local consumption and international travel, especially in China and Southeast Asia. The card provides Cambodian cardholders with a generous point program and exclusive travel insurance benefits.
In Southeast Asia, UnionPay cards can be used in 10 countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar and Brunei, and 9 of them have issued UnionPay cards. More than 80% of ATMs and POS machines in Cambodia accept UnionPay cards.
