Briefly describe the printing and processing methods of film label materials

1. Ordinary letterpress printing. Is currently the most commonly used printing method, suitable for reel to sheet printing. Due to the use of oil-based relief inks, there is a drying problem. There are two drying methods:

1) Cut the sheet after printing, put it on the shelf to dry. It occupies a large space and is easy to rub and stick.
2) Lamination after printing. Laminate the undried ink between the two films. Note that after labeling, label bleeding and die cutting should be avoided, causing the coating to fall off and quality problems.

2. Letterpress printing. It is an advanced printing method with good quality and high efficiency. Because the ink dries instantly, the film can be rewound without coating. Suitable for roll-to-roll and roll-to-sheet printing. At present, rotary printing and some intermittent paper feeding equipment are equipped with devices.

3. Solvent ink flexo printing. At present, inks made from harmful solvents such as benzene are basically not used, and solvent inks are alcohol-soluble inks. Due to the low surface tension of the solvent ink, the surface tension of the film is not as strict as other inks, so the ink layer has strong firmness and good printability. Some film materials that are not suitable for printing generally use solvent ink.

4. Water-based ink flexo printing. Water-based inks have strict requirements on the surface tension of the film. When printing, choose an ink that matches the film. Requires glazing after printing to protect the ink layer. In order to strengthen the firmness of the ink, the transparent alcohol ink can be printed on the film surface first, and then the water-based ink is printed, and the effect is very good.

5. Ink flexo printing. The principle is the same as letterpress printing, which is the most suitable printing method for printing film, with good printing quality and bright ink color. The dot deformation is small, which is suitable for screen color printing. Flexographic printing is currently the fastest-growing printing method in developed regions in Europe and America.

Solvent ink screen printing. The traditional printing method generally uses single-sheet printing, and a very small amount is web printing. Single-sheet printing has low cost, good effect, and strong strain. It is currently the main printing method for single-sheet adhesive materials in China.

screen printing. It can be printed on a single sheet or on a roll, which is the latest printing method. Single-sheet printing is currently widely used in silk screen imitation metal corrosion printing. Special screen ink is used to achieve special effects. Rotary screen printing machines all use inks; combination printing machines use inks when printing solid areas, lines, and color blocks, suitable for high-speed production.

offset printing. The latest technology in the world. It can print high-quality color graphics and text, suitable for long version and high-level label production. The application of offset printing is not common at present.

Gravure printing. Including the printing of solvent inks and inks. Gravure printing is the best quality printing method among all printing methods. With the advent of label processing machines, more and more printing plants use gravure printing machines to print labels. The gravure printing machine is suitable for printing long-run, high-quality labels, such as beer labels, battery labels, etc.
