Australia develops anti-hot glass

Two scientists at the Australian University of Technology in Sydney developed in August 2003 a special glass that prevents heat radiation. The glass only passes light and can block most of the heat. This “sandwich bread” type glass is a thin layer of polyvinyl alcohol with LaB6 nanoparticles placed between two layers of ordinary glass. The LaB6 nanoparticles can act as an infrared filter.
Now, scientists are trying to add new types of glass that can shield the performance of UV light, and pay close attention to the process of developing and producing cheaper shaded glass siding.
